The Holistic Full Body Massage is a special fusion created by me, which combines elements of Tao (TCM – traditional Chinese medicine) with traditional Thai massage, Tok Sen and Lomi Lomi massage.
This body massage is a deep, intense and relaxing massage, which focuses on the energy pathways (Sen – meridians) within the body. It helps to decompress, to rebalance the flow of vital energy and to remove possible blockages along the energy lines, as well as to release tensions and harmonize the muscular structure.
As a massage therapist, one of my primary methods of bodywork is the incorporation of conscious breath, which helps the body and mind to relax and recharge.
Breathing allows for increased awareness and presence, which also helps to release muscular tension and loosen up knots in the muscles; it lowers blood pressure and increases oxygen flow to the brain, decreases the release of adrenaline and overall strengthens the immune system.
A special feature of this massage is the inclusion of the whole body, starting with the feet where the reflex zones of the whole body and internal organs are located. This massage focuses especially on the back, neck and shoulder area, as well as the lumbar region and sacrum.
During the massage session warm neutral almond oil is used and it incorporates work on the hands, forearms, elbows and thumbs (acupressure) in flowing movements with the support of Tok Sen and Gua Sha.
- Tok Sen: is the so-called “jewel of Thai massage”. This technique is more than 2500 years old. A special small wooden hammer is tapped along the Sen energy lines; allowing the muscles, tendons and the nervous system to relax. The rhythmic tapping of this special tool is very effective, therefore Tok Sen can also have a surprising effect such as stress reduction, as it helps the parasympathetic nervous system, thus creating a state of calm and relaxation within the body.
- Gua Sha: promotes blood flow and nourishment of the tissues. It is an ancient treatment technique deriving from traditional Chinese medicine, which is especially effective for cervical tension and back pain, as well as to detoxify the body.
- Each massage is adapted to the needs of each individual person.
